Position Description:

Assist in helping MRUSA with
- Contract signing and handbook review
- Planning a coronation and travel preparations
- Reviewing her schedule and guiding her on how to get booked
- Be the primary contact for her throughout the year to assist with issues and keep on track with tasks for all board members
Schedule and lead all meetings
Work on 501c3 status
Finalize bylaws to be voted on
Maintain positive relations with the IPRA throughout the year and extensively during the pageant
Issue/review surveys on MRUSA from committees/rodeos
Oversee all positions and help wherever needed - must be well versed in all positions responsibilities
Act as second in command for everything related to the Miss Rodeo USA Pageant behind the Pageant Director - from booking venues, assessing expenses, conducting recaps, troubleshooting issues, assisting volunteers and helping to give direction
Maintain order and reputation; to act in the best interest for the growth of the Miss Rodeo USA Association

In a volunteer position, it can be hard to motivate and hold volunteers accountable for their positions responsibilities, how would you take on this challenge? *

Many of the responsibilities as Chairman involve being a primary contact for the queen, what is your comfort level in guiding (and disciplining when necessary)? Can you be available to her on a weekly basis? *

Do you have any experience with 501c3 non-profit applications? *

Do you have any experience with volunteer organizations and their creation of by-laws? *

What is your connection (if any) to the IPRA community? *

If you were selected, what goals would you have for this position during your term? *

If you held this position, you would become a voting member of the MRUSA Board of Directors and be involved in many decisions regarding our organization. What is your history or personal experience with rodeo/rodeo queen pageants? *

Do you have others in mind that you could potential ask to be a part of your sub-committee and help you with the tasks of this position? *

Are you available to attend the pageant each year during your term (approx. 3rd week in January in OKC) or do you have limitations on the days you can attend? Very important for this position! *

Generally speaking, are you available once per month for a phone conference (usually at 6pm on Sundays or Wednesdays) Very important for this position! *
