Abigail Benz
Miss Limestone Sheriff's Rodeo
Andersonville, GA
Age: 23

Abigail Benz was crowned the 38th Annual Miss Limestone Sheriff’s Rodeo Queen. She is the twenty-three year old daughter of Stacy and Colonel Edward Joseph Benz III and resides in Andersonville, GA. Abigail graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Global Studies. During her time at Auburn, Abigail studied abroad in both Italy and Nepal.

Abigail fell in love with horses at an early age and, upon attending her first rodeo, knew she one day wanted to be a rodeo queen. Abigail has ridden many different disciplines including drill team, rodeo, western equitation, and worked as a head wrangler. She has a passion for promoting the sport of rodeo and believes that rodeo is for everyone. In the future, Abigail plans to attend law school with a joint MBA program. Her goal is to make a significant impact on the lives of women and children around the world.

Abigail is excited to promote her platform “Cowgirl Courage” to help empower women, men and children worldwide. Cowgirl Courage is having the courage to speak up, stand up and saddle up. When we educate and empower ourselves and others, we find Cowgirl Courage to overcome any situation.

Why do you want to be Miss Rodeo USA 2021?

As a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a world champion barrel racer and Rodeo Queen. After meeting my first Rodeo Queen, I spent hours reading books and watching videos on horses and rodeo. I wanted to nurture my love of rodeo. God had a different path for me. While I might have taken a brief step back from rodeo, rodeo never took a step back from me. Rodeo taught me to have a spirit that cannot be broken. If chosen as Miss Rodeo USA, my mission would be to encourage, inspire and invite.  I will encourage others to never give up, inspire people by sharing both personal & rodeo athlete’s stories of overcoming adversity and invite people from all walks of life to find their home at the rodeo. The sport of rodeo and western way of life have taught me that life is not about simply winning or losing. Life is about having heart and choosing faith over fear. I cannot think of a better way to give back to a lifestyle that has equipped me with this mindset than as a spokeswoman for the IPRA as I share my knowledge and love for the sport of rodeo.
