Fashion 101 - American Spurs

A few weeks ago, I was on my way to a rodeo when I stopped at a gas station to fuel up. At this point, I wasn’t in my full rodeo queen attire, but I did have on my boots and spurs. While standing in line, I noticed a little boy that kept pointing at me and talking to his mom. I was wondering what was going on when the mother walked over to me and as she chuckled said, “Excuse me but my little boy thinks you’re Miss Rodeo USA.” I smiled and told her that in fact I was, but we both looked confused as to how the little boy knew. When we asked him, he pointed at my custom made American spurs that say Miss Rodeo USA. My point to this story is that you can tell a lot about a person by their spurs. You can make a quick assumption of where they’re from, what events they compete in, if they are in fact a working cowboy or somebody who just likes the way the spurs sound when they walk.

I am fortunate to have a beautiful pair of custom Miss Rodeo USA spurs made by American Spurs of Ronan, Montana. American Spurs is one of the only spur shops around that still makes everything start to finish themselves. They take great pride in what they do and it truly shows in their work.

American Spurs can make any type of spur you want. Whether you need to duplicate a single spur or you are needing to place an order for many trophy spurs for an upcoming event- American Spurs will work with you to fit your need. Their standard choices range from plain steel spurs to spurs decked out with your choice of Copper, German Silver, Jewelers’ Gold, Sterling Silver or Real Gold accents. These accents can include your name or initials, brand, the name of the event, flowers & scrolls, action graphics like reiners or cutters, back plates or any other design you would like.

Take it from me.... American Spurs are fit for a queen*  For more information and to order your custom pair of American Spurs from the official spur sponsor of Miss Rodeo USA, visit www.americanspurs.com
