Beat the Heat...Leave the Leather
 at Home

Beat the Heat...This summer as you represent your rodeo in true Queen fashion, go ahead - be cool!  I mean literally cool.  Leave the leather at home.  Any rodeo queen can be beautiful and definitely fashionable in a cool cotton shirt.  Take a plain shirt and use your imagination to dress it up in grand style. Sequin appliques and rhinestones are things you can add yourself quite easily. You can do different designs, such as stars, retro arrows and simply outline a yoke in rhinestones to make an arena or chap shirt that will sparkle under the lights.

There are several western clothing designers that make beautiful cool shirts, one of which is Nash Originals, owner Jane DeWalle.  Several of her designs will be featured soon on the Miss Rodeo USA web site, Fashion 101.  Western Styles retro shirts have been featured for the past several months. These are absolutely wonderful shirts for summer appearances. The Rider Show Apparel, Alicia Bruce owner, is being featured this month. Her styles are fun and original. The pantsuit being featured is gabardine, which is cool and comfortable. There are several great looking Scully shirts on the market that make perfect queen shirts. The most wonderful thing with all this clothing is that it breathes air on those long, hot, sultry nights at the rodeo. So go ahead and beat the heat this summer in cool clothing, save the leather for winter. It’ll be here soon enough.
